A newborn session is such a unique and special experience. It's once in a lifetime. One of my favorite things about the whole newborn portrait process is meeting with the parents for their pre-session consultation. When I first mom little A's mom, she was absolutely GLOWING. She may not have felt like it, but she looked amazing. When we met, we talked about her pregnancy, her plans for the nursery, and her vision for her newborn's first portraits. We worked together to plan the perfect session for her sweet little girl. Read more below for details about this Jacksonville newborn session.

When I got the call that little A was born, I was so excited! Mom sent me a cell phone picture of her, and oh my goodness she was gorgeous! I could not wait to meet her. After they settled in at home, we decided on a good date for her session. It would be at about 6 days old. (Newborn sessions are typically scheduled between 6-12 days)

I arrived at their home the morning of the session. Little A was quietly swinging in her favorite swing, and I immediately noticed those beautiful eyes, as she was wide awake! She was so tiny too! As I set up in the nursery for the session, mom undressed and fed the baby, so that she would be content and happy to start!

Typically, a good feeding will make a sweet little newborn nice and sleepy. But not this girl! She was set on being awake for the start of the session! But, she was SO content just looking around while I gently posed and photographed her. (I always keep the room nice and warm, and have white noise going, and this helps keep the babies calm and comfortable) Eventually, she got tired and fell asleep! Little A gave us some amazing portraits, and I don't even remember her crying one time.
